Revelations, apart from its mythologies, is also is an Eternalist book.
This is the mystery and paradox Time Itself has created. We are given the moment AS IT CONTINUES. it's a moment that will never freeze, allowing all posssibilities to occur forever. What do we, as living organisms do with this Time? We can merely exist until our bodies decay in death, or we can gather knowledge, through experience and language, and move ourselves and our species to a higher evolution.

What do you think about Time?
I call death 'the soup'. You don't die, you go back into the soup of life, where everything eats everything else. When people are depressed or find it difficult to understand life, when they are filled with anxiety, they say, 'what's the use? I'm going to die anyway.' As if everything will be over when they die.
But you don't get out of the soup just because you die. Everything continues, including you. maybe you won't have a body, Maybe you won't have a brain, but you'll continue anyway. you'll change form, infinitely. The moment you realize this, you become an Eternalist.
