The Empowerment of Self-Hypnosis

It's a busy world. Busy going where? Survival? Pleasure?

How NOT to spin out of control; Get a grip on your own mind. Take a half hour a day to sit in quiet and have a talk with yourself. Slow down. Calm down. Make yourself listen to yourself.

Tell yourself a story, a slow, easy, relaxing story. About a person just like yourself who was floating in the air, floating in a warm calm ocean in the bright moonlight. Then, something happens to the floater... or maybe it doesn't. Maybe the floater is imagining itself flying, smoothly, through clouds soft to the touch. The floater imagines the flyer is remembering a childhood filled with happy play. That child is dreaming of the future...

Let's put right and wrong aside for a moment, and just think of the way it is, aside from any emotional input. Emotion is heavy and difficult - we don't need it right now. We need to quietly look, within our minds, at the situation as it is. There it is.

But we don't dwell on it. We're going to let our mind go,... wherever it wants to go,... As if...

As if we are in that future that child dreamed of, the child that the flyer remembered, the flyer that the floater imagined.
